The search for a new Eye Cream (and my recent beauty haul)

One day, I woke up and discovered that both my Day cream and Eye cream had been completely used up. In need of replenishment, I decided to start my search at Ulta (I prefer them more because of their fantastic rewards program, especially for hauls).

Unfortunately, I couldn't find my beloved Sente eye cream at Ulta. I knew it was only available online or perhaps at some nearby Skin Care centers. Rather than go door to door in search of it, I opted to find a new eye cream that would be similar to it. My main requirement was that it should come in a tube for hygiene purposes, ruling out Lamer (I use it as my travel eye cream though, a freebie!). For my daily and nightly routine, I preferred an eye cream that comes in a bottle or can be pumped out.

My second criterion was that it shouldn't be overly complicated with too many ingredients; all I needed was a simple, hydrating eye cream with a gel-like texture that blends in seamlessly. This would ensure it's virtually invisible when applied.

So, I spent quite some time exploring the various products at Ulta, considering options from brands like Clinique, Philosophy, Shiseido, and even some Korean products that were being promoted. Despite the wide selection, I couldn't find what I was looking for – my perfect eye cream seemed elusive among the choices available at Ulta.

I went to the neighboring Sephora with a hopeful mindset, hoping to find Sente eye cream. Unfortunately, they didn't carry the brand at all. My search led me to discover another brand that is equally promising. This eye cream has a gel-like texture and is created by a dermatologist, which makes it all the more appealing. I decided to give it a try, and I have a feeling that this might be the perfect replacement for my Sente eye cream.

Back at Ulta, I had to restock my Shiseido moisturizer, which has been my go-to product for quite some time now. I've been a Shiseido girl since my working days in Japan and I kinda sticked to it. I finally gave in to that other variant with sunscreen, so I do not have to layer in another cream of sunblock, making my skincare regimen more convenient during those easy chill days at home.

Speaking of recent discoveries, let me share with you my newfound love for Supergoop's Unseen Sunscreen! It seems like their marketing strategy worked perfectly because I encountered their travel-sized sunscreen everywhere, and out of curiosity, I decided to try it during one of my trips. To my surprise, I became instantly addicted to it.

I've been loyal to my holy grail sunscreens for some time, but I noticed they tend to leave subtle traces of white cream on my face. While not very noticeable in regular conditions, it becomes apparent in well-lit and super bright settings or when taking photos. However, Supergoop's Unseen Sunscreen is a game-changer in that regard – it truly lives up to its name by being INVISIBLE!

What's even more exciting is that this sunscreen has a silicone-like texture, reminding me of the popular Smashbox primer. This feature not only makes it lightweight and pleasant to apply but also primes the skin for makeup application, making it an excellent candidate for a primer as well. So here, I got myself a full-sized one!

Lastly, I'm also excited about my new gel liner! I've decided to use a brush to perfect the cat-eye look. With its smooth application and intense pigmentation, I can create precise lines and dramatic eyes. I can't wait to master this technique and elevate my eyeliner expertise!
