My Roponggi “Concert”

It’s a live concert organized by my rocker boss. As I’ve said here, I’m just an extra but they still gave me my shining moments..

They asked me to sing “Yesterday once more” first, then “Proud Mary” (whew God bless us all!)… And more songs from the 70s… which I know by heart apparently – “You can’t hurry love” and “Hot Stuff”. I also did backups for Yumiko-san, the main vocalist. Some songs which I really loved to do backups with (and to sing as well) – “It’s too late” and “Let it be”. Although I did not do anything with the latter because I didn’t want to ruin the mood. It’s also a bad idea to do backups with that song because I just want to listen.

Thanks to all the friends who came! To the latecomers who weren’t able to watch my stint, sorry… as I’ve said, great things start from humble beginnings… 😎 I haven’t conquered the main show yet. Maybe next time, I’ll be the main act! Nevertheless, I really felt special! *teary eyes* I hope there’ll be another one.

Actually I don’t think it’s always 70s.. Maybe there’s a little 60s c/o the Beatles.

I think this is Yesterday once more. Coz I look so sad here. Now I’m singing…

When I was young I’d listen to the radio
Waiting for my favorite song
When they played I’d sing along
It made me smile…
(and I really did smile on that part, even coughed!)

Those were such happy times and not so long ago
How I wondered where they’ve gone

But.. they’re back again… Just like a long lost friend… All the songs I love so well…
(I love that part, coz the spotights suddenly appeared. And it made me feel like Jersey of Coyote Ugly when she performed her “Can’t fight the moonlight” onstage)

Chuwariwariwap in action… As you can see, I just smile all the way, just like old times… so nobody would notice my mistakes. There’s my rocker boss in the center. He plays the piano and the guitar. In one of our “regular” big time dinners, he had always been asking me about what I have been looking for a guy, and I said one time, “<rakista-boss’name>-mitai ga daisuki” – which means, “I want someone like you!”. True, I’m a sucker for rockers with lots of money. Haha. And to think that my boss is a big time IT manager, and that would make him really smart. I joked that he probably had lots of girls when he was young. He was denying that but the other colleague in the table was smirking and nodding his head. Anyway, I met rocker boss’ wife after the show. And I was right, his wife is so pretty.

I couldn’t track the other pictures from song to song but here are some more… As you can see, I’m sharing the spotlight with Yumiko-san, but I tried so hard not to grab it all too much.

Unfortunately, for these parts, I obviously couldn’t contain myself any longer… So let the gayness begin!!! This is the way we do proud mary! *rolling*rolling*rolling*

Here are the rest of the members. Two bands performed that night. The other band was also managed by another rocker boss in my office. Cool guys… most are also from the same company but I don’t see them frequently, only the rocker bosses.

Alright party’s over… I hope there’ll be another one… (that’s twice already)
