Superbowl Sunday & the Entertainment Area

We realized how important the formal living and dining areas are until we jumped on our first official hosting gig. We opened our home to our pinoy ex-colleagues and their families. It was the perfect timing - thanks to Superbowl Sunday - we have a reason to party.

There are probably like 4 out of ten pinoys who follow NFL. And I belong to the 6/10... However, Superbowl Sunday is part of the American Culture and you have to embrace it once you're here. It's like a Pacquiao fight in the Philippines - everyone, even those who don't follow boxing, are watching and staying at their homes to watch.

Good thing I understand football now, thanks to those nights at Tilted Kilt, and to the boyfriend of course for all his explanations. It's nice that even though you don't have a team, you still gather friends and family to watch it. It's like an excuse to go party.

As you know, the Broncos won... And the Halftime Show was superb! I loved it! My top two Superbowl performances are there... Superbowl 50's Halftime show is now in my top 3 Halftime shows. :) The audio was bad on live TV. But watching the video again made me decide.

It was a fun night but I forgot to take pictures!! I managed to take pictures of the food, but in a "hurry" mode because we are all about to eat. It's just difficult to host a party and take pictures at the same time. Next time I need to assign a photographer. I was also having fun carrying the babies of the group.

Anyway, the formal living room and formal dining room are all of good use. Today I am going to talk about our Entertainment Area. The sectional is something that we got out of an "awe" moment. Like we passed by it and omigosh we gotta take that! We got a huge deal on it from our now-favorite furniture store, Mega Furniture.

Unlike other leathers that we checked out, this sectional leather is really comfy. Even before sitting on it, it looks comfortable already.

And to add, Mega furniture exceeded our expectation on the delivery. It was delivered 2 weeks earlier than expected! It was really perfect because it just got in time for our Superbowl party. Plus, the furniture was delivered clean - no missing parts, and the leather is so clean. From the pile of paintings that Chee's brother gave us, we finally decided that this white one works perfectly with the colors of the fire place.

We also tried to reuse whatever we have at the moment. So the formal living room will be usable.

At the end of the night, we felt good about the hosting thing. Makes me want to do some more house dinner parties.
