Playing with Eyeliners

Just like everything in life, I learned that practice is key to achieving perfection in any makeup application.

Personally, I prefer using liquid eyeliners because of their convenience and long-lasting qualities. However, using gel eyeliners with an angled brush can provide more control and precision.

Eyeliners Galore! I played a lot with Eyeliner pencils/kohls but liquid is still my favorite

Before applying something, you gotta start by understanding your eye shape. As a beginner, consider skipping the winged liner first and instead just focus on the upper lids to enhance your natural shape with definition.

Keep in mind that learning comes through practice, so take note of this. Additionally, I recently stumbled upon a valuable insight: perfection is not essential from the very first attempt. I discovered a technique called 'stamping' where you start by creating a preliminary line and then gradually layer and refine it as you progress. This approach involves building up layers and I have found it to be highly effective.

However, if you're determined to try a winged liner, remember that *again* practice makes perfect. It's easy to become frustrated with detailed makeup application and get caught up in correcting mistakes. But with consistent daily practice, applying makeup will become second nature.

Tarte Double Take is my "holy grail"

I dedicated several mornings to perfecting my application of winged eyeliner, incorporating tips and tricks from various YouTubers. Since everyone's eye shapes and textures differ, it's essential to invest time in understanding your own features to achieve the best results. The techniques I learned in beauty school didn't always work for me, so it was crucial to identify my unique eye features and practice diligently. Eventually, I discovered my own personal style and am now satisfied with the outcome of my efforts.

And I love this somewhat unconventional tutorial, it's different from what I learned in beauty schools. This one helped the idea "click" for me. I believe I have a semi-hooded / semi-almond shaped eye, somehow this applies very well for me.
